Halloween hair dye help?

I don't know.

Just make sure you wash it good, shampoo and conditioner.

That might take some out.

If you wash your hair enough it should fade out.

Depending on what kind of hair dye you used, this could either be really hard, or really easy.

If you used a permanent hair dye (anything with peroxide or bleach in it) it's a lot harder to get out. You can wash your hair over and over again to fade it, but depending on how porous your hair was before you dyed it (if you bleached it first, or if you have colored your hair a lot, the pores in your hair will have soaked in more hair dye which will be more difficult for it to wash out). Permanent hair dye WILL fade, but it is designed to be permanent, so it will take a LOT to get it out.

You may want to color over it with a different color, but if you choose to do that, make sure you consult with someone first, on exactly what you should do. L'Oreal has an amazing customer support line that will give advice on how to cover over colors, and which ones not to mix together. (I know this from experience...I bleached dark hair to blonde, got sick of it, and then tried dying brown over it...ended up with brown for one day, which turned a disgusting shade of green when I washed it...I called the support line, and they saved my high school life, ha ha)

If you used a semi-permanent like "castings" or "color spa" (these are generally a stain with a few chemicals in it to make it stick...these are designed to eventually fade back into your natural color) all you really need to do is wash your hair over and over again until it's the lighter shade you are looking for. Again, depending on how porous your hair is, this could take only a couple of washes, or it could take 50 washes, you just never know.

If you used a stain, such as "Manic Panic" or "Punky" or any of those dyes you get from Hot Topic, or stores like them, this could be iffy. These colors are only a stain, almost like putting food coloring in your hair, only it's stronger, essentially, but they can be a bugger to get out. If you have damaged hair (such as bleached hair, or hair that has been colored too much) these stains will sink into the hair amazingly well, which is great if you want to have flamingo pink hair for months on end, but not so great if school is giving you a hard time ;) Just like with the semi permanent, wash it over and over, which should fade it, but it can take a lot of washes to do so...if your hair was virgin hair before you colored, this should be a lot easier, as healthy hair generally doesn't hold the color very well, and it should wash out rather easily.

I have had to color over these stains before because they just would not fade, but at that point, my hair was damaged from over bleaching, so washing it just wasn't happening.

My advice for you is to grab the cheapest shampoo you've got (because you're going to use a lot of it), and get washing! It should fade out, no problem...I don't recommend the stuff that strips color out of your hair, as it uses more chemicals, which is not good for your hair.

GOOD LUCK! :)
