How to strip the hair dye colour from hair?

I dye my hair mid-dark brown with permanent hair dye but now want a colour change. Is there a product on the market that can take the colour out of my hair but NOT bleach?!

Thanx

L'oreal has a hair color remover kit that you can get in most any store. It's in a white box and says 'Hair Colore Remover Kit' in red letters. Been there, done that with a 'hair color disaster', so I know what you mean.

Well, there's letting your hair grow out. I'm not aware of any product other than bleach that gets color out of hair. If you have healthy hair, the bleach shouldn't completely kill it. Just deep condition it, and don't use other chemicals on it for a few days before and a few days after. Talk to a hair stylist who can evaulate your hair's health and texture. My hair stylist was very helpful when I wanted to change my hair color.

Blondor by Wella.. it bleaches but you could always tone it down.. unless it's a metallic dye i doubt those can be corrected..

Any store bought brand of color can be stripped out of the hair by taking a dime size of baking soda and mixing it with your regular shampoo and shampooing your hair a few times.

However, if you put permanent hair color in your hair, then it is going to be there for quite a while. Consult with a professional and see how much they would charge you to color it... you could really damage your own hair if you try and change it yourself. Or worse.. I've seen women come into the salon with a similar situation that tried it themselves and ended up with orange hair! .. so good luck!
